Visited the tavern for a drink and the bar looked busy, no tables free and bar busy Staff to the rescue and removed dinner setting replaced with mats and we sat and had a comfortable drink. So impressed we returned for dinner the following night and again were met by friendly helpful staff, great pub/ restaurant food and service where nothing was too much trouble, food delicious and served with style beyond most pubs. We have booked for this weekend again in order to pick different food from the extensive and varied menu. Well done The Tavern

The Tavern Steakhouse

We enjoyed a lovely meal at The Black Swan. We shared calamari and halloumi starters, along with a delicious soup which came with two huge pieces of crusty bread. It was 2-4-1 on pizzas and they were absolutely delicious with a range of original toppings. My son had the steak and ale pie and it was absolutely packed with steak. My daughter went for the Cajun chicken burger and really enjoyed it. We were too full to manage a dessert but the children both went for cheesecake - it was Biscoff and they loved it! We will definitely be back next time we&rsquo;re in Alnwick.

We decided to return to the Olive Branch for lunch today. The young staff were efficient &amp; very polite. Our lunch was beautifully presented and the service was very good. My friend had a vegetarian quiche &amp; I had a vegetarian panini both needed more flavour it was rather bland.

I&#39;ve been feeling a bit down lately, but I personally feel that delicious food can always heal my inner unhappiness. This Mivesi restaurant is also quite well-known locally, and the portions are always quite generous.

Drive by, you can see the roadside as shown in the picture, there is a huge billboard of Grannieslogo, the yellow one is very eye-catching, just come in for dinner, pizza and pasta are fast food, not bad, it is recommended! The sauce tastes very rich, there is ice cream at the door to buy ～

The title of my review says it all. I had the Crab Chouder with homemade olive bread and my husband had the Soup of the day. Will be back asap

Good choice of menu, booking essential for restaurant, but the same food is offered in the bar area, which is busy and not as comfortable as upstairs. Well worth the time taken to book

On the outside this may appear an old fashioned drinking pub but inside it is a contemporary dining space. Excellent service from the young waitress (Can&#39;t remember her name sorry, but she is Scandinavian) and a lovely steak meal. The manager was also very welcoming. I would highly recommend people to eat here if staying near Alnwick
